I am often asked whether I will tell a bride where to sit or stand while she is getting her hair and make-up done on her wedding day. For those who have requested wedding photography coverage as they are getting ready, this is an important part of the day. My role as a Lindsay Ontario wedding photographer is to document the moment as it exists. If the scene happens to be ideal for wedding photography (soft, even lighting, a dark background with limited distractions, and interesting compositional elements), that is an ideal situation. Rarely is this ever the case, however. Since I would never want to interrupt the work of another vendor on a wedding day, I document the scene to the best of my ability as a Lindsay wedding photographer, then will ask for certain elements to be staged later on, in lighting I choose. This may mean the make-up artist pretends to apply lipstick, or the hairdresser adjusts a bobby pin in the bride's up-do.
