Photographing brides with their mothers is one of the most important roles of an Ontario wedding photographer. While many older women shy away from the camera, I try to remind them that this single day is often when they will look their very best and feel their most confident. I also remind them that my wedding photographs are not for them, but instead are for their daughter and future grandchildren to enjoy. In this window-lit bridal portrait, the mother helps with the bride's dress in the moments before they leave for her wedding ceremony, which I also photographed. I love the tenderness of their expressions. Despite the bride's back being turned, the two have a clear connection that draws viewers in to the images as they desire to learn more about their relationship. While an Ontario wedding photographer's job is always to photograph the couple first and foremost, close family are just as important.
