Sometimes portraits are elaborate, with fancy backgrounds, and interesting posing. Other times, they are very subtle, focussing just on the relationship between the couple. Following their wedding ceremony at the Peterborough courthouse in downtown Peterborough, the bride and groom wanted to find a natural background for their wedding portraits. In this Millennium Park wedding photograph, I asked the groom to look out of the water (Little Lake, Peterborough). The bride turned her head into his temple, closing he eyes and enjoying the moment with her new husband. The light from the late-day sun illuminated this Peterborough bride's hair as well as the textured grass behind her. Millennium Park offers water-front views, woodland scenery, long walking paths down to Little Lake (home of the Peterborough Little Lake Music Fest) and, of course, close proximity to the Peterborough Courthouse wedding venue.
